It is a truth universally acknowledged that whatever bizarre and revolting fuckwittery our cousins across the pond, in the U S of A, get up to we here in the U of K will shortly emulate.
Hence the prevalence of MacDonalds and - even worse - KFC, all over our once green 'n' pleasant land. But soon, oh yes, soon, things will get even worse.
KFC allegedly trialled a new and world-beating recipe last year. Apparently, so few people died during this trial that they're launching the new dish on April 12th in America. Which can only mean one thing. At some stage this year, we too will be presented with this delicious new menu option.
Ladies and Gentlemen: the 'Double Down'. Yup. A bacon and cheese sandwich, with the the bread - wait for it - with the bread replaced by two pieces of deep fried chicken:
