Welcome the new decade

A Happy New Year, and a Happy new Decade.

At last, we are rid of 2009, a year which historians will note contained very few good things, and many, many bad things. In fact, all in all, it's great to be rid of all of the absurdly named 'Noughties'. What a fucking pointless decade that was.

But now, a new era, a fresh start, major change. CF can't wait. What could possibly go wrong?

Doubtless much that happens in 2010 will be infuriating, and you'll be the first to hear when it is.

However, there's a good chance that there'll be change for the better, in the country and in the world, and that we shall see the back of many of the people and creations that enraged us all through 2009; thank God.

But all that will have to wait. For now, raise a glass and drink: a toast to a brand new decade.

Cheers to all!

Happy New Year from me also, CF.

The year would have been much, much duller without your posts.

Stay feisty!

CF, I must admit I think you are wrong. I see so much unfinished business from the naughties. The muslimisation (new word, do you like it?) of this country continues apace and we are up to our eyes in debt and still as a country have no idea just how poor we are going to become. My own pet theory is that the key event of the naughties was that chip technology became ubiquitous. We all have computers and the net and communication at our fingertips. While ten years ago, it was barely beginning for the mass of us. And governments (particularly this one) also realised that the technology gave them the opportunity to control even more of our lives. That taken together the technology has not liberated us but entrapped us - but being entranced by the gadgetry, we don't yet realise it.

Cheers CF, hope 2010 has been as good for you as it has been for me, so far.

Happy New Year, CF!

I had a great time at my local Indian restaurant followed by partaying at my local village hall, followed by death by hangover this morning.

Perfect hangover cure: burnt toast, loads of butter, one slice Marmited, one slice golden syruped, strong hot sweet tea. Much better'n Dioralyte.

Unlike Grumpy Optimist, I think gadgetry has empowered me. I'm now working from home in the back of beyond and doing all the hippy shit I'd never have been able to do without noughties connectivity. So there!

Here's to a decade of personal love, health and happiness, whatever mess our leaders decide to make of the big picture.

And a Happy New Year to you, CF. For a new decade, however, you will have to wait until 2011 - unless you customarily count from 0 rather than 1.

Happy New Year CF. Your fury keeps the rest of us calm. More power to your keyboard!

You welcome the new decade and ask:
What could possibly go wrong?.

How about the election of an incompetent, light weight, left of centre nanny state government headed by xxxxxx.

(In place of xxxxxx insert Brown or Cameron depending on your political leanings.)

So you think the Tories will make everything better do you?

Pointless.

It's no the end of the Ddecade. Surely the end of the decade is when 2010 is over?!

Correct me if I'm wrong
