Where's the health 'n' safety when you need it?

Living near a University town, CF is well used to swerving wildly to avoid idiots on bicycles. They're a plague on the town, but nothing -- short of a spree with a semi-automatic -- can be done.

Even more maddening however, are the organised cycle races, which take place on the main roads of the area. CF is mildly irritated at having to avoid a couple of students yakking about Countdown in a 20mph zone, but just sick with rage being held up behind 6 twats in spandex suits who are - what? -having a race on an A-Road.

Some poor sod has just been catapulted from his bike and killed this weekend. CF extends sympathies to his family, of course, but he was on the A1, for Christ's sake. One of the busiest roads for miles around, on a Bank Holiday Weekend. Was that really the best place to organise a race? Really?

If CF wanted to race some mates in cars up and down the A1, even if he could locate some people in fluorescent jackets to stand at every junction and watch, he'd still be "helping the police with their enquiries" pretty sharpish. Similar restrictions would prevent a picnic on the central reservation, or a game of badminton on the hard shoulder.

In a world where Ed 'Blinky' Balls can send out a leaflet at Christmas warning people not to be "hurt by trimmings or when decorating their homes", why the fuck are these nutters allowed to hold their sporting events on a piece of road that:

a) CF has fucking paid for in exorbitant road tax;

b) CF might need to use, to get to Peterborough quickly;

Where are the health and safety Nazi's now?

Cyclists in the main are Darwin Awards just awaiting an accident.

It's the same here, on the by-pass. Complete and utter tools, the lot of them.

Fuck you. Even if your post wasn't so revolting, the mere idea that anyone would want to get to Peterborough in a hurry would render it worthless in any case.

..and..

1) Why is the post revolting? (30 mins., use metaphor, no conferring)

2) Why not Peterborough? It's the only place your partner will let me do the bad thing...

The local county council put in a cycle path almost the entire length of the road from my village into a nearby university town (10 miles, at huge cost). Do the cyclists use it?, of course not. For these 2 wheeled Nazis it's all about being seen to be saving the planet, wearing the ridiculous outfits and being a pain in the butt to planet killing motorists.

Winscreen washers are an effective response in my opinion. Squirt you windscreen washers, headlight washers, rear window washers, whatever you have as you pass them. They get damp you get a giggle where's the harm

Running them off the road would be better but messes up your paitwork.
