Have WE won the election?
If Cameron can keep his nerve, realise he's in the strongest position, tell the crustier members of his party to shut the fuck up and give Cleggy a good hard stare over the top of his playing cards ..
And if Clegg can ignore the more outlandish elements of his party, admit to himself that he's fucked up, that the Lib Dems are a long way from a real 3rd party at the moment, and gratefully grab a hold of a couple of of concessions and a couple of positions in the inner circle ...
And if Brown can be kept well out of it, left to moulder in Downing Street for a few more days, like a one-eyed Miss Haversham, while his spinning acolytes jog from TV studio to radio studio to newspaper offices ...
...then it could be that we'll get a government with an effective working majority - on a confidence and supply basis - and no silly coalition promises.
A government that puts aside partisanship, rolls up its sleeves and starts to clear up the enormous fucking mess that Broon and his acolytes have bequeathed us.
In which case we, the public, the voters, are the only winners. And isn't that what democracy's for?

I think Cameron and Clegg are going to be truly horrified when they see the real balance sheets of the British economy. They will have to work together or we as a country will be royally screwed. Petty politics has to go out of the window.
Careful now, these are politicians you're talking about, not people with a conscience.
Wot the engineer said. Yes, we won.
Well said. Still have dig Brown out though. He'll have the blast doors shut by now & be hiding in the darkest corner of the bowels of No.10.
The Liberals have no seats in Scotland as do not the Conservatives. Scotland has its own parliament where Scottish Labour MPs will continue to vote for contrarian policies funded by English Conservatives.
The only electoral reform we need to to stop Scotland's Westminster MPs from voting on matters that apply to England. No more hung parliament. Job done.
The jocks have made it perfectly clear how they feel.Great, paddle your own tartan canoe, stick your oil up your arse,we will buy it on the world markets, take McGloom and your bitter mps back north and above all you are welcome to that fuck awful salmond.
I like the scots but when it comes to politics they're a bunch of fckin retards.
No, we haven't won, they have. It's in their hands now, not ours

So bussiness as usual then.
Follow ups.
I agree with THe Filthy Engineer.
Cameron & Clegg may take a good, long look at both the hands of cards they've been dealt and decide they'd rather go for a nice game of darts instead....
If the Conservatives takeover government and Labours rotten mess and have to preside over what is now a failed state with all that implies bankruptcy and social unrest Greek style. Then in less than a year Labour will march triumphantly back into n°10. No for the good of the political right now is not the time to take over the reins of power. Let Labour reap what they have sown and let them suffer the indignation of the nation and be hurled into political oblivion.
Kempy, we are not all retards, not by a long shot. Unfortunately a combination of lots of retards on welfare and redrawn boundary lines in the main cities means that non labour voters in Scotland central belt are virtually disenfranchised. The very affluent areas of Edinburgh and Glasgow were at one time Conservative strongholds, now they are split and combined with very poor areas with the result that the central belt is a block of solid red, as was intended.
You should feel sorry for us as much as I feel sorry for the English, the redrawing of the boundary lines will ultimately play a huge part in the break up of the UK as more and more people resent the Scottish MP's and the manufactured underpinning of the Labour party.
If you think that the second rate politicians we send to Westminster are bad, try listening to the Scottish parliament debates, they are hilarious for a neutral.

Oh dear, another one, please read the following very carefully.
THE F*CKING TRAITOROUS B*STARDS THAT VOTED LABOUR FAILED US.
Look at constituencies like Blunketts, Labour pretty much got more than ALL THE OTHER PARTIES PUT TOGETHER.
Part of me thinks that Cameron (despite his traitorous behaviour over Europe) should grab the reins of power and govern with or without the LimDims.
However, despite the short term pain to us all, it might actually be better to tell McNutter "Ok, you say you're the PM, you broke it, you fix it" and walk away knowing they can bring him down in the Commons any time they like. They can block all his mad ideas and force him to carry out Tory policies or they'll force a second election whenever it suits them (grab a few pissed off MPs from elesewhere and they can win a vote of confidence easily).
